Over Shintaro K

About:
Hello my name is Shintaro.
I have three master degrees for classical piano and fortepiano in Japan, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
I have been teaching the piano since I was a master student in Japan.

Teaching:
When I started at 3 years old I had very bad teacher until I was 16.
She didn't know how to teach me but the only good thing with her was she just let me to do whatever I want.
But at the end of her teaching, my fingers stayed ridiculously weak, my body was not used properly while playing and I got very bad posture.
Then I decided to go to Claudio Soares ( a friend of Maria Joao Pires) to change my technique.
It took many years but he and his wife Kumiko taught me with great patience and I started to get prizes at competitions in Japan and Europe!

Because of this experience with my first teacher, I'm very motivated to teach students the right techniques.
I taught students between 13 and 40 years old and I always try to figure out different methods for each students due to they have different bodies and experiences.
I can prepare students for applying for admission to Conservatories. We can also work together towards a certain goal, this goal can be big or small.

My career in music:
I have performed in great big concert halls with professional orchestras such as Luzern Festival Concert Hall "KKL".
Through these experiences I had, I think I can solve technical issues of students by different approaches (physical and mental).
I have a master degree of fortepiano in The Hague Royal Conservatoire too.
For understanding historical approaches, students can try to play these instruments at my teaching place.
Normally I teach in the piano salon in Delft (there are 2 concert grand pianos by Grotrian-Steinweg).
I can also teach in the city hall library in The Hague or I can come to students places.
