When I started listening to music, I was always drawn to rhythm and movement. I didn't understand back then what was this thing that made me feel ecstatic, but I guess I always liked powerful grooves that someone could dance to. I started playing electric bass at the age of 16 when a friend of mine who was a guitar player convinced me to start with bass guitar to form a band. Back then I was listening to Metal music and all my heroes came mostly from that era. In time I got more into the instrument and fell in love with its role, to bind everyone together in the band and as a carpet, create the foundation that the rest of the musicians will step into. As my musical taste expanded further than Metal and Rock, I was drawn into Funk, Jazz, Electro, Folk etc.

When I started teaching at a younger age, beside the responsibility that I felt towards the student, I was not aware of how much of a learning experience was that for me. It took me several years to understand that through teaching you get to learn more about oneself. My method regarding teaching is that I teach people who love and want to learn music, and I am always going with the needs of every student individually on what he/she would like to accomplish. Aside from learning the bass guitar, it is optional If someone would like to learn music theory, ear training, rhythmical solfege, polyrhythmes, reading.

I am a graduate of Codarts, Conservatorium of Rotterdam with a Bachelor degree in Jazz bass guitar. I played bass guitar for numerous bands such as Funktion (Rock, Funk), Soulmates (Funk, Soul), Nastra (Folk), Isaias Matiaba (Pop), Open Source Trio (ethnic-jazz) and others.
