Ilia is a French saxophone and flute player Ilia graduated at The CNR of Paris in 2000 in Classical Flute and in the American School of Modern Music in Paris in Jazz Saxophone in 2005. Ilia is currently the leader, composer and saxophonist of Jazz Funk Konnection (Tenor and Soprano sax), is also playing with Gadjo Orkestra (alto sax), Satisfaction Injection (alto sax and EWI) and the Charli Green Big Band (alto, soprano sax, and flute). He has also participated in many recordings with French and Dutch musicians.

Saxophone lessons at your home
The lessons can take place in the comfort of your own home in Utrecht, Amstelveen, Amsterdam, Haarlem... or at my home in Kockengen where I have all the equipement needed (keyboard, amps, bass, saxes, CDs, etc.) to have all the different options for playing music. Enjoy free parking and a tea or a coffee!

Jazz - funk - pop - classical
Private saxophone classes are open to adults and teenagers. All levels are welcome and any style is possible, including classical, jazz and popular music.

Improvisation - Freedom with rules
From the first saxophone lesson we'll focus on developing a good sound and musicality in a nice and spontaneous way. You'll easily learn the basics of body posture, handling the instrument, breathing technique, embouchure, finger technique, rythm and reading music. Of course improvisation is important to jazz and pop musicians. You will learn techniques to create your own music and melodies, so you will be free to play on any music that you love, without limits.
To play music together with others is really important. That's why I accompany the lesson with piano, saxophone, bas guitar or with the use of a CD.

Ilia is prepared to travel up to 50 kilometres to your house, but only for lessons of 60 minutes / Ilia is bereid om tot 50 kilometer van zijn adres te reizen om bij leerlingen thuis les te geven, maar alleen voor lessen van 60 minuten.
