Over Gloria
Ik ben Glòria Expósito, een zelfstandige celliste, kunstenaar en schilder uit Barcelona die gevestigd is in Utrecht.
Ik heb mijn bachelor gestudeerd aan het Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona bij Angel Luis Quintana (solist van het Orquesta Nacional de España, in Spanje).
Gecombineerd met mijn studie was ik lid van het Nationaal Jeugd Orkest van Catalonië (JONC) en heb ik verschillende internationale muziekacademies en masterclasses gevolgd, met gerenommeerde docenten uit verschillende delen van de wereld.
Momenteel ben ik een actief Nederlandstalig muzikant lid van het Nationaal Jeugd Orkest (NJO) en lid van het Alban Kwartet, een strijkkwartet gespecialiseerd in de Eerste en Tweede Weense School.
Parallel hieraan speel ik ook de barokcello, wat mij de inspiratie geeft om muziek te spelen vanuit een historisch perspectief.
Voordat ik naar Nederland kwam, combineerde ik het spelen in professionele orkesten met lesgeven aan een muziekschool via de ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) in Barcelona.
Deze drie jaar ervaring hebben gewerkt om de cello docent te vormen die ik nu ben, een docent die zich aanpast aan de behoeften en niveaus van de leerlingen. Het feit dat ik zowel artiest als cellist ben, brengt iets speciaals in mijn lessen waardoor mijn leerlingen de cello verder kunnen ontwikkelen dan alleen de muzieknoten en techniek.

I am Glòria Expósito, a freelance cellist, artist and painter from Barcelona that now is established in Utrecht (The Netherlands). I studied my Bachelor at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona with Angel Luis Quintana (Soloist of the National Orchestra of Spain). Combined with my studies I was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC) and have attended to different international music academies and masterclasses, with renown teachers from different parts of the world.
I came to this country to form myself as a professional musician at the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium. At the moment, I am an active Dutch speaker musician member of the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest (NJO) and member of the Alban Kwartet, a string quartet specialised in First and Second Viennese School. Parallel to this, I also play the baroque cello which gives me the inspiration to play music from a historic perspective.
