My name is Ghaeth, a clarinetist from a small city called Salamiyah, Syria. 
Now based in Rotterdam where I graduated  from Codarts  Masters degree centred around Ethnomusicology at the conservatory.

I did not start my journey with music as a child, it was at the age of 21 that I first began playing the clarinet.
My engagement with music at a later age made me start to understand how much I had missed.
Not only the comfort and joy as a result, it has also opened so many doors and changed my way of thinking about life.
Music taught me how to be creative and it introduced me to many different cultures, ideas and details which I was never going to be aware of without music.

All of this encourages me to share this gift with as many people as I can.
In a way, it gives me a feeling of duty to pass it on to the younger ones because I’m sure that it’s going to be their best friend in both happy and hard moments!

My specialization is focused around Balkan, Klezmer, Arabic/Turkish, classical and improvisation.
My practical teaching lessons are for clarinet, Bass clarinet, saxophone and Duduk.
I also offer theory lessons on these styles.

I've been involved in many different projects during my career.
Currently I'm performing with Dafa trio, L’Chaim and Dyar Band and Nedelands Blazers Ensemble.
I have been fortunate enough to tour to many countries with my music and I played alongside great artists such as:
Ellen ten Damme, Paul de Leeuw, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Lena Chamamyan, Konrad Koselleck Big Band and many others.
