Over Charis
Mijn naam is Charis en ik geef privé lessen aan iedereen die Griekse driesnarige bouzouki (baglamas & tzouras), Kretenzische (laouto) en Turkse luit (lavta) wil leren.
Ongeacht leeftijd en niveau schenk ik aandacht aan de behoeften en de wensen van elke cursist en leg ik de focus op technische en theoretische kennis.
Indien de leerling wenst om kennis op te doen over de oosterse muziek en muziek theorie (makam), is daar de mogelijkheid toe.
Ik heb een Bachelor Lavta behaald op het Rotterdams conservatorium Codarts en een Master Kretenzische luit en Lavta.
Daarnaast heb ik vele instrumentale cursussen gevolgd, maar ook cursussen met didactische inhoud op het Koninklijke Conservatorium van Den Haag.
Ik kan de leerling inwijden in de wereld van muziek en hem/haar het gereedschap geven dat hij/zij nodig heeft zowel wat betreft de theorie als ook voor de techniek zodat de cursist een passie voor muziek kan ontwikkelen.
Ik vind het prachtig om leerlingen zich zien te ontwikkelen en hun dromen najagen, zowel jongere leeftijden als ook volwassenen.
Ik benader elke les, ongeacht het niveau en de moeilijkheidsgraad, met hetzelfde verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel en enthousiasme.

I deliver private lessons of three-string bouzouki (also baglama and tzouras) as well as both Cretan and Istanbul (lavta) Lutes.
Regardless of age or level, the classes aim to emphasise on the needs and requests of the student through focusing on the technical and theoretical development.
There is also the option of makam teaching (Eastern Music theory).
A student could choose me on the basis of me having a bachelor on lavta and a masters on Cretan lute and lavta but I’d rather to be selected on my ability to introduce students to the world of music and providing the necessary tools in theory and practice.
These tools are fundamentals in experiencing one’s passion with music.
I’ve taken the great joy in witnessing students growing both at an earlier and older age, chasing their dream to play music.
I deal with every class with the same sense of responsibility and enthusiasm regardless to the level or complexity of the course.
I’ve had the chance to be trained on music education at the Hague Conservatory of Music.
