Ciao! I am Caterina, I am an Italian harp player and I love Music!
I've always loved it but I've always thought it was just a beautiful form of Art, I couldn't see a deeper meaning... Until 4 years ago: I finally experienced in person it is a lot more indeed and I am here to show it to you, if you'll like!
Why do I teach? Music is the most essential and natural form of Art, one of the anciest and most fundamental elements of all time, for all cultures. That's why it is known as the Universal language, the one to communicate, to share, to help, to express feelings and thoughts even when they cannot be expressed with or by words. I could see this even more during the past 4 years while teaching and leading classes for kids and adults, refugee and homeless people, often facing big issues like the impossibility of verbal communication (for cultural or physical reasons) or critical behaviour situations. In these cases, as for daily life situations, flexibility, a very open mind, enthusiasm and empathy can make a big difference. Doesn’t matter which instrument or kind of Music you play: you can express something special with it, and I would love to help you to!
By mixing this learning together with my harp (and basic piano) skills, my goal as a Music teacher now is not only to teach you “the right notes”: I will do my best for you to enjoy Music, to discover the instruments, to be creative and curious, to give space to your ideas and to express yourself through playing, using few words but a lot of practice. Every lesson will be a moment of reciprocal exchange of knowledge and ambitions, a new adventure for everyone to learn from each other.

About Me:
I started playing harp at Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini in Genova at 11 years old. After my Bachelor Diploma I won a Scholarship and I moved to Den Haag, where I attended and finished in 2017 the “NAIP-New Audiences and Innovative Practice” European Master at the Koninklijk Conservatorium, which enriched me with many new skills and a greater awarness about Music and its role in our own lives and our Society.
I was part of various orchestras (PYO-Palestine Youth Orchestra, GEO-Galata Electroacoustic Orchestra, Jeune Orchestre International de Montecarlo, Metropole Orkest Academy) and ensembles (NOOS Ensemble, The Odd7, Duo Flauto&Arpa), I have collaborated with many yo...
