I am Bartolomeo, 23 years old. I play flute since I was 6. I always loved music both playing it and listening to it. I am interested to all kind of musical expression, from classical to rock & roll, from jazz to electronic.
What I find great of music is that it is a special language that permit to communicate with everyone without filters and with such a strong impact if mastered.
When I was little I always has been interested in wind instruments and because I was too young to play brass instruments I choose flute from the woodwind family. It is one of the oldest instruments and it represents one of the closest to the human voice; I find this concept very fascinating and it is definitely one of the reasons why I keep loving it.
Flute is my main instrument but I also play electric guitar since I was 13 with an Italian rock band named Twang.
Learning and performing are absolutely unique experiences and a great honor but an even bigger one is to be a teacher. In order to be complete as a professional musician, in my opinion, it is very important to share what learned. Teaching is definitely the best way to do so. What is very interesting of the teaching process is how much you can receive as a teacher in terms of inspiration: explaining a concept or an idea to a student can provide new points of view.
Usually I find one hour lesson perfect in terms of time and energy spent, even though for some students could be different. First part of the lesson is dedicated to play the pieces or the exercises in order to see which are the improvements and which are the things to work on. Then follows the working together process in which I will play with the students and together we will find the best ways to solve problems.
Final part is when the student perform a piece or an exercise trying to put all the information together.
This is just an example of a basic lesson; obviously every lesson is different than the others and it is based on the student characteristics.
I am active in local ensembles like Duo Volgaris, Fractals Winds Quintet, ecc.
I worked with numerous orchestra like RCO (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), NJO, Nieuw Ensemble, CvA Orchestra, Giuseppe Verdi Orchestra and many others.
Teaching is for me a great responsibility and a great pleasure at the same time.
