Over Andrea B.
My name is Andrea and I am from Italy. I have studied with many great teachers and I am an active professional viola player. I have three bachelors (one in Italy, an ABRSM LRSM in London and in The Hague). From next year I will be a student in master with the legendary Mikhail Kugel. I have a lot of experience both as a solo player and as a chamber music player and I won prizes in competitions in both.
Teaching violin and viola
Teaching has always been my passion and I have a lot of experience in teaching students of all ages and levels. From 5 years old on you are welcome as one of my students. Music is a healthy passion. It teaches the students to organize himself while at the same time lets them explore their inner feelings. Violin and viola are not just instrument that you take in your shoulder and you play. They offer you (or your son/daughter) the possibility to explore yourself and work to become better in life. Are you (or your kid) shy and introvert? Music can open you and with a proper teacher you can open, change yourself without even noticing while having lot of fun!
Teaching experience
I have a lot of experience in teaching with both young kids and grown ups. I think everybody can learn an instrument at ANY AGE! I am a professional viola player and prizewinner in many competition so I am able to teach both to amateurs and to people wanting to be or already at a professional level and needing guidance.
My way of teaching
I strongly think that there is not one and only way to teach violin or viola to a student. There are actually as many ways as there are students. During the first introductory lesson I like to get to know the student and let him/her try the instrument, talk with him/her and have fun with him/her while observing his/her reaction so that I can develop a program that suits the character, the level and the needs of every student. Every student will have a personal program and personalized exercises. I keep track of every progress of every student in personal folders (one for each student) and mark the work done and to be done adjusting the program accordingly to the development.
Languages: I offer lesson in English and Italian and soon in Dutch.
