Over Irene B. G.
Hi, my name is Irene and I come from Almería (Spain)! I start my musical studies with the cello when I was 8 years at the Conservatory of Music. The following years I continued my musical education with the violoncello taking lessons from Bernard Delire, Josep Trescolí, Adolfo Gutierrez Arenas, Suzana Stefanovic, Angel Luis Quintana, Jane Fenton, Simon Veis, Jeremias Sanz, Alvaro Campos, Miguel Cariñena, María del Campo, María del Carmen Coronado, Natividad Álvarez Ossorio.
At the age of 15 I began my bachelor degree and after 4 years I got my title. Then I moved to Holland, in order to continue my music education. I have had lessons from Herre Jan Stegenga, Jeroen den Herder and Karlien Bartels.
Currently I am studying a tango music master degree in Rotterdam at Codarts University of the Arts with the cellist Job ter Haar.
In relation to chamber music, I received lessons from teachers like Floriann Kitt, Adolfo Gutierrez, Jeremias Sanz and Simon Veis with my string cuartert, “Ad libitum” performing and getting several awards.
In relation with orchestras, I am a member of Philarmonic Orchestras like Orquesta Ciudad de Almeria (OCAL), Almeraya Symphony Orchestra (ASO), Youth Orchestra of south (JOSE), Camerata Musicum Consensum, Gran Orquesta Típca (OTRA) in Rotterdam and others.
What is teaching for me?
Teaching for me is the power of communication between the student and teacher, stimulating them to improve every day and enjoy during the process.
How do I teach?
I like to give private cello lessons one by one because after my experience as a cello teacher I understood that it is the best way. Because each student has different needs, every lesson will be personalized.
My lessons are always prepared for each student by taking their goals, experience and of course the most important: learning pace into consideration. It is because in our first lesson I can see what exactly do you need, how can I help you and then we can start to work together!
Two important words in my lessons are: PLAY & ENJOY.
I always use an enjoyable way of teaching, otherwise it can be super difficult and boring, even for the teacher!
Kids or adults, beginners or advanced players ...Doesn´t matter: music is wonderful for everyone.

I can teach in English, Spanish, and soon in Dutch.
Let’s play some music together!
