My name is Efthymios or simply Ef. I come from Ioannina, Greece and I am a composer and audiovisual designer. I have studied in the bachelor and master Jazz Composition department of Codarts (Rotterdam Conservatory) and in parallel I have been working as a composer, arranger and audiovisual designer for the past 4 years. (My past also includes bachelor studies in
Guitar, Vocals and Forestry Engineering).

I believe that composing is creating, shaping, designing, experimenting but also applying our experience and our artistic intuition through different levels or layers of working processes.
Composers are “sound” organisers. They must have the knowledge and patience to organise, prepare and build something new, interesting and challenging!

If you are interested in composing, sound designing, arranging or songwriting,
I can guide you on how extend your knowledge on creating and developing ideas and material towards a final composition or production.
I can also show you a variety of techniques and tricks for approaching any style of music, form, structure, melody, harmony or rhythm and teach you how all of them can be your tools!

In relevance to each new project we can work together using combinations of Sibelius, Logic or pencil and paper.

Of course I am also working on preparing students for entering the composition department of the conservatory.

Composing is a long-term study that requires patience and passion. But through the way it is full of surprises, knowledge, self discovering and a lot of fun!

The first lessons would be focused on getting to know each other. About musical interests, or general artistic interests and backgrounds.

The lessons can take place at my place or your place and they will be in English.
